  1.  Amarnath Yatra Package from Neelgrath /Baltal Route.

Amarnath Yatra from Baltal /Neelgrath is the newest route as compared to Pahalgam route. This is the shortest route opened by the Jammu and Kashmir Government. This is the busiest route for helicopter users during the yatra. Most of the pilgrims who prefer to use helicopters choose this route because Amarnath Yatra Package and helicopter price is cheaper than Pahagam route. Trekking route from Baltal is also busiest but not as much compared to Pahagam trekking route. Nowadays people dont have so much time so focusing on darshan people started using Baltal route for trekking. But the old and traditional route is Pahagam so first timer  Amarnathji trekkers prefer to go from Pahalgam route and return from Baltal.

There are two options to reach the holy cave from this route depending which mode you select. If You go by Helicopter, then Neelgrath is the only base point now and if you go by trekking then Baltal is the only base Point. Earlier helicopters used to fly from Baltal so Baltal was the base point for both types of journeys by trek and by helicopter. But In 2015 Neelgrath Helipad was built to reduce the load at Baltal and kept this place only for trekking.

Baltal – Baltal is also known as Camp city of Kashmir because during Yatra you find thousands of tents and many Langars for Amarnath Yatra Pilgrimage at this route. Baltal is 95 kms from Srinagar and 395 kms from Jammu city. Baltal is situated at the bank of Sindh River and Zojila Pass is the base of this scenic beauty place. Baltal is located beside the national highway which leads to Leh. It is 16 kms from Sonamarg which is another beautiful place for local sightseeing. You can start trekking for Amarnathji Pilgrimage from here. If you want to go by helicopter, then return to Neelgrath 12 kms towards Srinagar.

Neelgrath – It is a small village located at the bank of River Sindh. Neelgrath is also known as Neelgrat and just 4 kms away from Sonamarg city and 84 kms from Srinagar and 12 kms before the Baltal. This place is famous for its scenic beauty and due to Helipad, the Importance of this place has increased. During Yatra you find a small number of tents here. There is no proper accommodation facility available at Neelgrath. If you want a decent hotel to stay, then you will have to stay in Sonamarg 4 kms before this helipad. If you want to go Amarnathji Darshan by Helicopter, then Neelgrat  is the base point and if you want to go by trek then go 12 km ahead and reach Baltal. From Baltal you will have to start a trek for the Holy PIlgrimage.
